Once Upon A Childhood

All she wanted was love.

She does for love, out of love,

and in love she made mistakes,

mistakes unforgiven by those she gives

she receives little, little, little…

lots, lots, and lots

harsh words stripping beautiful

locks to wavy ramen, disfiguring

her curves to heavy steel burden

whipping her down down down.

She remembers the love that was,

her little hand in his big one

once upon a little childhood

years not too many gone by

yesterday’s dream… fading.

It was never meant to last.

She grew up loving

not loved,

she grew up not at all.

She grew up lost,

the years gone by,

she grew no love.

Eyes filtered by lies,

all good memories gone;

all pain scabbed into scars in her soul;

carved on her knee, injustices.

No one protected her.

And now….

Her little hand in his big one,

once upon a little childhood

never happened like

yesterday’s dream… fading

with every breath

as years too many gone by.

God, please help her.

Bring her back

to beautiful dreams come true

better than yesterday’s.

Heal her, release her pain,

take her away

from today’s chaotic mess.

Her little hand in His big one

once upon a little childhood.
